Downtown Ottawa

Events Description

Our most popular ‘intro’ cycling option. This self-guided ride from Village Square in Stittsville to downtown Ottawa along The Great Trail, makes excellent use of traffic-free (and slightly downhill) rail trail and pathways through pretty forest and along the scenic Ottawa River. Included stops have you sampling local treats and craft beer, and suggested stops allow for additional pleasures like a walk on a beach or a well-deserved ice cream indulgence. Yum!

Venue & Address: Ottawa

Between 9:15am and 10am, depending on bicycle rentals and pickup location (downtown bicycle rental shop or secondary central location). Exact time and location will be confirmed on your tour voucher.

Almost exclusively on sections of The Great Trail. A mix of traffic-free rail trail (crushed gravel surface), paved multi-use pathways, and some dirt trail. One small section of very low traffic road with a wide, paved shoulder. We recommend a hybrid bicycle or lightweight mountain bike (thin tires not recommended).
