Events Description
Un village en trois dés (A village in three rolls of the dice), is Fred Pellerin’s new incursion in the talking labyrinth of his native village of Saint-Élie-de-Caxton. Once again, we meet its legendary characters: Méo, the hair-tussling barber; Toussaint, the generous merchant; the lovely Lurette ; and several others. We also meet Alice, the village’s first female postman, who licks envelopes both ways, to close or to open them. We also learn a bit more about the new parish priest sent by the bishopric to restore some of the lustre of yore to Caxton’s flagging religious fervor.
