The World Migratory Bird Day is an annual celebration intended to welcome back migratory birds.

Join the OVWBCC and WBU team with special guests from the Bird Friendly Ottawa team and Get the Lead Out initiative for our second annual World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) celebration.

– There will be bird walks, scavenger hunts, crafts, face painting and fun activities focused on this year’s theme – Water: Sustaining Bird Life
– Participants will receive a goody bag filled with take home information, colouring contest pages, and WMBD stickers!
– NEW THIS YEAR…bring your old lead tackle for safe disposal and receive a $10 voucher to buy new lead-free tackle and a ballot to enter to win a tackle box!
– Learn more about the important work happening at the OVWBCC and what you can do to help wild birds in your backyard.
– Talk to the knowledgeable WBU staff about the many ways we can attract and enjoy wild birds in our backyards.
– Visit the Bird Friendly Ottawa team to learn how we can all help make Ottawa an official bird friendly city!
-Kona Ice will be nearby serving up cool ice treats too.
