Hosted in Ottawa, Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton and Kelowna, Walk in Her Shoes challenges Canadians to walk in solidarity with women and girls in developing countries, who walk an average of 10,000 steps every day to collect the basic necessities their families need to survive —water, food and firewood. Because of this, many impoverished women and girls have little time to get an education or earn an income.
Building on the success of last year’s challenge in Ottawa – when close to four hundred people weathered the cold to walk in support of women worldwide – the Walk in Her Shoes challenge will occur on International Women’s day!
