Events Description
Since 1991, Victorian teas are a long-held tradition at Government House. Hosted by the outstanding volunteers of the Government House Historical Society in the Henry Newlands Ballroom, they offer a unique setting for this time-honoured tradition.
Held in the beautiful Government House Ballroom, a typical tea includes three sandwiches, a fresh scone and preserves, and a dessert, all served with an endless pot of tea.
Did you know? 50-60 volunteers are needed to run the tea, and they serve over 2500 people per year, 180 slices of bread have the crust removed per tea or 1620 per year go into sandwiches and 350 napkins are folded each tea weekend or 3500 per year.
The Government House Historical Society makes this a must attend event.
