The second collaborative art show and sale featuring new work from Saskatoon artists, Don Schoenfeld, Danny Schoenfeld and Sharron Schoenfeld will be held July 25th. The entire front and backyard of Don & Sharron’s home will be used for this diverse art event.
Don Schoenfeld creates unique scrap metal sculptures and wooden bird carvings. Working with reclaimed metals he serendipitously transforms them into art. The skills he has acquired from forty plus years in the welding trade now innovatively serve him in constructing repurposed artwork. Part of the creative inspiration for Don is seeing the genesis of a project by looking at the shapes of recycled metals. The fun grows in watching the work take shape and evolve into the original vision. Roosters, chickadees, robots and dinosaurs are some of Don’s repertoire.
Danny Schoenfeld’s ever changing art practise has evolved into a combination of mixed media, graffiti and calligraphy which he calls caligraffiti. This distinctive art form is created on canvas, furniture and murals. In addition to calligraffiti, Danny is also well known for his spray-painted canvases which will also be in the show.
Sharron Schoenfeld is an acrylic painter and mixed media artist. Her subject matter is inspired by the photos that she takes of the boreal forest and lake country, prairies and cityscapes. Sharron’s paintings are loose representations of character homes, flowers and plants, landscapes and still life.
COVID protocols will be followed.
