Events Description

Squash Canada is thrilled to announce the triumphant return of National Championship squash competition after 20 difficult months on the sidelines. With the support of title sponsor Oxford Properties and presenting sponsor Slaight Music, squash will bounce back this October in a very special way with an all-glass exhibition court erected in the Yorkdale Shopping Centre, one of Canada’s premier shopping centres in Toronto, Ontario.

The event will see both our Canadian Men’s and Women’s Open Championships and the finals of the Canadian Junior Championships (Boys and Girls U13, U15, U17 and U19) run simultaneously in a celebration of our national squash community. Canadian stars Hollie Naughton, Danielle Letourneau, Shawn Delierre, Mike McCue, David Baillargeon, Nikole Todd, Nick Sachvie, Nicole Bunyan and Cameron Seth as well as many of Canada’s top juniors will return to competition on home soil for the first time since March 2020.

COVID-19 Safety Measures

In order to enter the spectator areas of the Championships, each ticket-holder must produce upon entry government issued proof of full vaccination with the 2nd dose administered at least 14 days prior to the day, or proof of age for those younger than 12. Depending on the ticket-holder’s province of residence, each individual will have to produce a provincial/territorial vaccine passport if that government has made such available by the time of the Championship, and/or other official government vaccination confirmation/receipt, along with government issued photo identification.

All ticket-holders will also be required:

1. To wear a mask at all times, except for short intervals to eat or drink;
2. Provide telephone numbers for contact tracing purposes;
3. Sign a COVID-19 Attestation Form;
4. Sign a COVID-19 release of liability form;
5. Undergo COVID-19 screening at point of entry; and

Individuals who are not fully vaccinated may be able to attend the Championships for reasons protected under Canadian human rights legislation or valid medical condition upon submission and acceptance of satisfactory evidence. Such consideration and determination shall be at Squash Canada’s sole discretion. However, the duty to accommodate must be balanced against Squash Canada’s obligation to protect the health and safety of all. There is no requirement under human rights law to accommodate a refusal to be vaccinated arising from a political belief and/or principles.

Individuals who are not vaccinated and who wish to attend the event are advised to contact Squash Canada at admin@squash.ca to request an Accommodation Request Form prior to purchasing tickets.
