Events Description

A showcase of the Best Female Directed Short Films from around the world today.

Films from: Hungary, Ireland, UK, and the USA.

FIRST ACT PROGRAM
BAD FRUIT, 11min., Ireland, Documentary
Directed by Teresa Lavina
This is a film about the Tuam babies in Ireland. 796 babies were thrown in a septic tank, no proper burials, no prayers, no respect. The nuns have not yet apologised for their actions. This film is a testimony told by the survivors of Tuam mother and baby home, their experience and stories. I am publishing this with great respect for the victims, the survivors and Catherine Corless for the amount of time and work she has put into her cause trying to help the victims and having the voices of these babies heard.

GYRL, 7min, USA, Drama
Directed by Anaiis Cisco
A portrait of a pre-teen African American girl struggling with an abusive father.

PATRIK, 10min., USA, Drama
Directed by Evgeniya Radilova
This is a story about an accomplished elderly actor who grew too old for our modern fast paced life and on his way to receiving his final and ultimate life time achievement recognition, he gets swallowed up by it mercilessly. It is a human story about trying to age gracefully while being pushed aside by the next generation. It is the real human connection, that Patrik receives in the end, which is the ultimate reward we can all only hope for in this lifetime.

ENTRANCE NO EXIT, 8min., UK, Comedy/Drama
Directed by Jo Southwell
An OCD tennis player on a long haul flight to Australia. Mid flight she needs the loo. Simple. Right ? Wrong !

SECOND ACT PROGRAM

NURSE HELEN FAIRCHILD, 11min, USA, Documentary
Directed by Eliciana Nascimento
Bravery, compassion and the will to save lives motivated the young Nurse Helen Fairchild to leave home in Pennsylvania and embark on a journey to Europe, where she served as a surgical nurse during the World War I. This short documentary recounts her fascinating story and the quest for Fairchild’s recognition as a war hero.

SWIFT, 5min., USA, Action/Comedy

A teenage kid who wants to be a superhero finds out about her superpower one day, and encounters a crime scene.
