Bring mom for a special Victorian Mother’s Day tea served by costumed interpreters in the historic parlours and dining room of Gibson House. Tea treats made from authentic recipes and inspired by menus of the day will be served on tiered trays on lovely china. Guests can be seated together at tables to fit the size of their group, and small tea-themed gifts will be given to all mothers and special guests in attendance. After tea, participants can explore the historic house. Some of the items served at the tea will include homemade scones with butter and Gibson House jam, raspberry cream sandwich cookies, lemon loaf, iced brownie bites, an assortment of teas, and lemonade. Gibson House is one of 10 Toronto History Museums which explore where Toronto’s many pasts, presents and futures meet. The museum offers visitors a glimpse of 19th century rural life in North York.
