Events Description

The Reel Girls Film Festival is the first-ever all-girls international film festival. It is devoted entirely to supporting and encouraging girls to take a larger part in filmmaking. The Reel Girls Film Festival honors the passion and creativity of high school-aged and younger female filmmakers, animators, and screenwriters. It believes that a community devoted to young female filmmakers allows them to develop unique voices and visions, these are the roots for establishing gender equality in the film industry. It’s also a great way to make friends and find role models. Role models like Reel Girls esteemed judges: Naomi McDougall-Jones, Alicia Malone, Kelly Fyffe- Marshall, Mellisa Shaddick and Amber-Sekowan Daniels. The Reel Girls Film Festival takes place May 17 in Toronto, Ontario. For more information visit www.reelgirlsfilmfestival.com.
