Summer in the 6IX

Summer in the 6IX is a free program designed for Toronto youth, aged 13 to 24, offering opportunities to drop in, meet up with friends and participate in themed activities. Programming includes dance, fitness, and sports, as well as leadership, employment, arts and media. The program, which will be offered for nine weeks from July 5 until September 3 (Monday to Friday), is available to all Toronto youth at parks across the City.

Who Can Participate

Any youth, aged 13 – 24, can join in the fun.

Cost: There is no cost to participate, and no pre-registration is necessary – just show up in the park when the program is scheduled to happen!

Three sessions:11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

What to Expect Upon Arrival
Staff will conduct a verbal health screening with each participant prior to program start. Staff will collect caregiver or participant contact information and for ParksPlayTO, the number of children they are accompanying. This information is being collected for Toronto Public Health in case of a COVID-19 outbreak.

Programs run in dry weather only. Please bring water and wear hats and sunscreen. Closed-toe, closed heel shoes are also recommended. Program locations do not always have washrooms. Participants are expected to use their home facilities in those instances. Program schedules are posted two weeks at a time so check back for more dates. Locations will change over the summer.

Safety
Programming is designed for participants to maintain physical distance from other individuals and groups. Equipment will be sanitized between uses, or individual supplies will be provided.
