Monthly, The Funniest Show on The Danforth showcases comedians which have performed at comedy festivals such as Just for Laughs, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Halifax Comedy Festival, Toronto Sketch Festival, Montreal Sketch Festival, Boston Improv Festival, and Big City Improv Festival (Toronto).

THIS MONTH’s show includes Dalia Vainer, Amethyst Barron, DUO DAD, The Two Sues, David Caffo, and Chris Robinson – hosted by Luke Lynndale. Join us on The Danforth at the Social Capital Theatre’s cozy 2nd floor.

Here is a little about each of the performers in the show.

Luke is a Toronto-based, comedian performing stand-up, improv and sketch. He has performed stand-up in Comedy Brawl (2017, 2018), Comedian of the North (2019), the Boston Improv Festival (2018), Big City Improv Festival (2013, 2017), World’s Biggest Improv Festival (2016, 2017, 2018), and Best of Toronto Sketch (2018). He is founding member of DUO DAD (2013-present).

Dalia is a fresh, new, female comic to the Toronto scene whose been making waves now for just over 3 months.. She won top titles at “Bring It! A New Talent Competition” and newcomers night at Room 104. When she’s not on stage, you can probably find her running to her parents’ to do laundry.

Amethyst is a nervous wreck who sometimes thinks of something funny. They are a non-binary, queer comic and pet-sitter extraordinaire. They once entered a donut-eating competition and lost horribly. However, they recently won Bring It! New Talent Comedy Competition and they feel that more than makes up for it. They have been featured all over the city on shows such as Other and The New Normal, and have performed in venues including The Rivoli, Comedy Bar, Bad Dog, The Underground, Glad Day, and more. Come see the comic that one honest barber said they “couldn’t picture” doing stand-up comedy.

“Watching DUO DAD perform is like watching an episode of kids say the darndest things, except it’s two dads.” – Matt Folliott, S&P, Chad Mallett, and current Canadian Comedy Aware Nominee K$S. DUO DAD reminds us about the beautiful communication that can and does exist between father and son. Through their improv, they remind us, too, of what really matters in life’s roaring waterfall of meaningful moments: respect, love, and making a positive difference in the world!

After randomly meeting at a secretary’s convention and realizing they shared the same life long dream, the Sues quit their jobs and hit the road motivating and inspiring everyone they meet to follow their dreams too. Through storytelling, secrets to success & happiness, music, and a little improvising, the Two Sues will leave audiences inspired, empowered, self aware of their inner self awareness, and writing their own resignation letter on a napkin before the night is over.

David is thrilled to be doing Stand Up Comedy. After 30+ years in the business world, he decided that the third chapter of his life would involve what he loves the most: making people laugh. Starting with an intro class at Second City he hit the stage. Now several classes and many years later, David regularly performs in various Comedy Clubs in the Greater Toronto Area and has done shows in Vancouver and San Diego.

Quinn has performed in Just For Laughs and NXNE as well as movies and some of your favourite commercials and TV shows. He has been killing it all around the country, and has even blessed stages in the USA with his quick wit and relatable story-telling. He will have you saying “OMG that’s so true” before and after you laugh.
