Events Description
Join us at the Africa Picnic Site for the Toronto Zoo’s Maple Syrup Festival, sponsored by Longo’s! From 10:00am until 3:00pm all weekend, guests are invited to learn about maple syrup and the stages involved in the production of this Canadian, family-favourite household staple. Interpretive displays will walk guests through the stages of maple syrup production, while interactive activities such as tree tapping, sap boiling*, touchable artifacts, and games such as ‘Name the Maple,’ will help bring the sugar bush right to you! The Maple Syrup Festival is a family-friendly opportunity to highlight the core woods in a new way and is a unique representation of maple syrup collection in an urban setting.
Maple snow cones made with Longo’s Organic Maple Syrup will be available for a suggested donation of $2, while supplies last! Donations will go towards funding the maple syrup collection program at the Toronto Zoo.
Toronto Zoo restaurants will also offer maple-themed specialty items all weekend including maple burgers, maple Beavertails and special pastries!
