This was a bad experience. Not terrible, but they could have been better because they failed to plan appropriately.
First, our reservation was from 12-4. No notice was said to get here early because their check-in process could be tedious. So we arrived at 12 only to wait in line for an hour. After asking why there was no notice, they were too comfortable using Covid as an excuse. This would be acceptable if NO OTHER PLACE THAT REQUIRED US TO RESERVE IN ADVANCE MADE US WAIT AN HOUR IN LINE!!! Our group waited an hour in line, with no apology and no compensation. They simply said to “have compassion because of our current climate”. But, once again, most places are prepared for this, or they give us notice to come early because of such long lines. Plus the security repetitively reminded us on 6ft distance yet we shared the same pen WITHOUT SANITATION!!!
After racking up our bill, they cut the music off at 3:25, then had security address us at 4pm stating we were about to leave without paying. After correcting them about the time discretion, and suggesting they seat everyone else and allow those that got seated later to leave later, they refused and said we should leave immediately.
The level of disrespect, accusing us of trespassing even though we paid for 4hrs of service when we arrived on time (which can be verified by the security who I conversed with regarding allowing people ahead of us, complaining about waiting in line so long despite us reserving our time, and making remarks to me saying “at least the line is moving now”), accusing us of leaving without paying despite our party earning 6 figures INDIVIDUALLY, and having ONLY ONE OF the waitresses understanding our frustration, has made me question the establishment and what they stand for. I initially thought their location, on the Ontario Exhibition grounds, would uphold high standards as the hotel restaurants around them that I frequent, I am thoroughly disappointed in my experience as they exhibited behaviours that were simply low and classless. I will not be going to this, or other pre-reserved experiences in that vicinity. Jack Astor’s offers a better experience, and I would rather their service for MUCH CHEAPER since they value us more.
With love,
Party @ table P103
PS: the pictures are fake. They had a moldyvmattress that they had no problem seated a party on. I wish a took a picture, or else you would not believe me that such a location would be so disappointing.
