Events Description

Get your garden growing for 2020, and shop for all your gardening needs at the annual Langley Seedy Saturday, organized by the Langley Environmental Partners Society. This year, brings the annual gardening event to the Derek Doubleday Arboretum’s Rotary Interpretive Center.

Recently known as the Seed Celebration, it has changed names to a Seedy Saturday to make it more in line with Seedy Saturdays and Sundays across Canada. It also is supported by Farm Folk City Folk, and this year, one of the guest speakers is David Catzel, who is FFCF BC Seed Program Director.

Langley’s Seedy Saturday bring vendors of all sorts; Cedar Rim Nursery, Desert Plant Society of Vancouver, St Florian Soap Co. and MacInnes Farm selling local eggs and honey. Take this opportunity to find out about what community supported agriculture is with Pinsch of Soil Farm as you shop for your seeds from Naramata Seeds, Salt Spring Seeds, and the BC Seed Coop. Have some saved seeds from last year? Come swap them out at the seed swap table! Plan to stay for lunch with Gypsy Trunk Food Cart, while you enjoy the spring gardens at the Arboretum.

The event is on March 7th from 10 am to 2 pm, with free admission and free parking. For further information, please contact agriculture@leps.bc.ca, or 604-546-0337.
