Events Description

It’s a leading cause of environmental pollution, yet exempted from most environmental regulations. Only a fraction of the money spent on it could instead end global hunger, provide clean drinking water for all, and pay for the transition to renewable energy. What are we talking about? War.

On June 23, join the new Metro Vancouver World BEYOND War chapter for a talk with expert Tamara Lorincz to explore the connections between the climate crisis, militarism, and war.

Tamara Lorincz’s research specializes on the climate and environmental impacts of the military. She is on the board of the Canadian Voice of Women for Peace, and the international board of directors of the Global Network Against Nuclear Power and Weapons in Space. Tamara has an LLB/JSD and MBA specializing in environmental law and management from Dalhousie University.
