Come To DIY Craft Bar For Some Crafty Spring Break Fun!
Each day of the week we will explore different crafting experiences. Students will learn and work with many different art mediums. They will take home 2 fun and functional projects everyday (except for string art Wednesday due to the length of time of the project)
Monday March 29th – We will start off the first day of the week learning how to work with Vegetable tanned leather. Students will choose to make any of our leather wallets and a leather bowl. They will learn the basic techniques of cutting, prepping and dyeing leather, and then assembling their project.
Tuesday March 30th – Starting off the second day, we will work on creating a customized Wood signs. We will go over with the students tips on how to prep your wood project, and different painting and staining techniques. Students will be able to free hand their designs, or if they need a little help, we will create stencils for their projects. After lunch, we will continue the painting fun and make a customized Tote bag. Using a completely blank canvas, the possibilities are endless what they can create.
Wednesday March31st – We will have some fun with hammers and nails and dive into the old craft of String art. One of our personal favorites and Popular from the 70’s, this craft has come back into full “string”. Students will use the wood painting and staining techniques they learnt from Tuesday, and prepare their wood for their stringing master piece. Students will be able to choose any string art pattern we have available, or we can create something special for them upon request. This project does take time and patience, so we will only be working on the one craft this day.
Thursday April 1st – Happy April fools day!! We will start the day off by creating a Cement craft. They can choose from either plant pots or cement coasters. They will carefully and accurately measure, mix and pour the cement into the molds. While we wait for the cement to set, we will get a little messy and dive into Fluid paint pouring. Students will learn the basic techniques of fluid art on a small test canvas first, then move to a larger canvas for the final pour. After lunch, we will jump back to the cement project, and spend the rest of the day painting and decorating the cement projects. A plant is included if they selected to make a plant pot. For this class, the fluid painting will have to be picked up the next day, as it takes 24 hours to dry.
Friday April 2– The final day, we will start off the day getting a little messy with Tie Dye. Students will be able to choose to dye a store bought shirt, or they can bring an item from home as well. We will go through how to tie dye the traditional way, as well as some bleaching techniques. After the tie dye fun, we will move on to creating either a Sunburst mirror or Clock, ( students choice). Both crafts will make a great addition to any bedroom! For the final day and to celebrate all the students hard work ,we will provide a pizza lunch this day, no need to pack a lunch for them!
Who is it for?
**Age requirement is 10-16
**Students are required to pack a lunch for all days, ( except friday we will provide pizza) We have a microwave on site, so students can bring lunches that require heating. We have water, and some pop for them if they want.
**Parents will be required to sign a waiver on behalf of their child prior to attending the class. Waivers will be provided at the beginning of the week.
** We Provide smocks to craft in. Please make sure your child is not wearing hers/his favorite clothes during the classes. We will be working with lots of paints and dyes and messes can and will happen.

**Due to limited space, We are currently only booking for the full week. If we have spots available closer to spring break, we will open up daily registrations.
