Events Description

In an age of individualism and isolation, to what extent are we responsible for others? In her mania for making lists, and overwhelmed by difficulties in her own life as a mother, a woman has failed to do what would have saved the life of her neighbour, also the mother of small children. This text is part fictional soliloquy, part personal diary, part stage monologue and part grocery list, and its setting is the world. This is the theatre of life, where the stage is the kitchen floor, because the greatest tragedies are often triggered by the most mundane events. Winner of the Governor General’s Literary Award in 2008 and the Prix Michel Tremblay in 2010.

Text by Jennifer Tremblay

Produced by Théâtre Cercle Molière

Directed by Geneviève Pelletier

Distribution Alison Palmer, Asma Zennati, Eunice Hossana and Anna-Laure Koop

Update from the Organiser:

TCM CURRENTLY CONTINUES TO OPERATE AS NORMAL.

We want to reassure all our visitors that the safety of our audiences, artists and employees is our priority.

The team at Théâtre Cercle Molière continues to closely monitor developments locally and globally. We are following official guidelines from the Public Health Agency of Canada in order to support the health and well-being of our community. For now, they have assessed the public health risk as low for Canada.

At this time, our performance hall, offices and other public spaces remain open. Should the need to postpone or cancel shows arise, we will issue a notice on our website and inform our ticket buyers. Any decision to postpone or cancel shows will be made based on verified information and directives issued by the Public Health Agency of Canada.

In addition to our regular cleaning procedures, we have introduced the following precautions:

  • Our facilities maintenance team is taking extra care to sanitize all public spaces, including doorknobs, handrails and other surfaces.
  • Hand sanitizer is available in our spaces (at the bar, at the ticketing desk and at the reception in our offices) – but the best thing to do is to wash your hands for the proper duration of at least 20 seconds.
  • Informational signs are displayed in every restroom and throughout the space reminding visitors and patrons of the best practices to promote health and prevent the spread of infection.
  • We are asking staff, performers and patrons to stay home if they present symptoms. We invite you to please consider the following:
    • If you are experiencing sneezing, coughing, or fever, please stay home.
    • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing (or an elbow or shoulder if no tissue is available).
    • Consider elbow bumps instead of handshakes.
