Events Description
Discover the wonders of winter at the Zoo this Louis Riel Day! Our animals love winter and so do we. Spend quality time with friends and family and encounter species from around the globe. We will also have family-friendly activity stations where you can try jam-pail curling, smooshing skis, snow sculpture carving and more!
Jam Pail Curling | Walkabout Ice Rink: Team up with your family and friends to play a game or two of jam pail curling on the ice.
Smooshing Skis | Beside Toucan Ridge: Strap on your skis and lead your team to the finish line and prepare for lots of spills in the snow along the way.
Toboggan Pulls | Beside Toucan Ridge: Pretend you’re a dog team of friendly huskies while you race with your group on toboggans over the snow.
Snow Sculpture Carving | Walkabout: Create your own snow sculpture and display it for everyone to see.
Bonfires | Near Ice Rink in Walkabout and along pathway: Warm up by the fire pits.
Tug of War | Outside of Walkabout: Test your strength with a friendly game of tug of war.
Hot Chocolate Station | At the Fire pits: Bring your own reusable cup for a free cup of hot chocolate.
Warm up with Storytime | Gateway to the Arctic
