March 28, 2021

Winnipeg Art Gallery, 300 Memorial Boulevard, Winnipeg

Events Description

The meaning of Qaumajuq is “it is bright, it is lit” in Inuktitut, inspired by the light that pours into the new building designed to reflect the forms, land, and light of the North. This theme of light will carry through a year of celebrations!

Starting tonight, we’ll be illuminating the two connected WAG-Qaumajuq buildings. These Northern Lights will continue most evenings (5-10pm) this winter and evolve into projections of Inuit imagery closer to the opening of Qaumajuq in early 2021. The launch date of Qaumajuq will be announced after code red restrictions are lifted in Manitoba! In the meantime, come check out the lights and peek inside from the street to the Visible Vault!

Date & Time: Daily, Until the end of March 2021 | 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
