Events Description
Have you ever wondered what it takes to lead an entire symphony? Maestro Raiskin makes it look so easy!
This is your chance to watch some of the most talented up and coming conductors in the country. The biennial RBC Canadian Conductor Showcase provides a unique professional training opportunity to four talented emerging Canadian conductors. They’ll be immersed into the orchestral world with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and mentored by music director Daniel Raiskin, associate conductor Julian Pellicano, assistant conductor Naomi Woo, along with the WSO artistic team.
This finale concert features emerging cellist Matthew Stobbe performing Edward Elgar’s Concerto in E minor for Violoncello & Orchestra, and Johannes Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 in D major, all conducted by the 2021 RBC Canadian Conductor Showcase participants.
