We like to get to know the neighbours. Our whitetail deer neighbours are present in ever greater numbers in Winnipeg, and this is your chance to get to know them!

Learn about the seasonal life of deer, listen as rattling antlers and we call to our deer – find their trails, know if deer or rabbits have been browsing nearby, and share the excitement of an encounter with a wild deer at FortWhyte Alive.

Getting to FortWhyte Alive via downtown Winnipeg:
Take Pembina Hwy {route 42} south until you reach McGillivray Blvd {route 155}
Turn west on {155} and drive past the FortWhyte Alive Outdoor Adventure Site entrance until you see the FortWhyte Alive turnoff at McCreary Road (it is clearly marked).
