Events Description

Binoculars are an often-overlooked means of exploring the night sky. Besides having uses other than expanding your universe, they are more affordable than telescopes, and easier to use.

Join Planetarium astronomer Scott Young for a 2-hour workshop on how to choose – and use – binoculars for stargazing.

Course topics include:

  • Backyard Astronomy Basics
  • How binoculars (and telescopes) work
  • What can I see in binoculars?
  • Choosing binoculars for astronomy
  • How to find objects in the night sky using binoculars
  • Star Maps and Space Apps – how to find your way around the night sky

All participants will receive downloadable handouts and resources to help them get started in backyard binocular astronomy.

Tickets: $20 per device connection ($15 for members)
