Explore Farm to Fork by Train

Travel by train to meet your rural neighbours on this unique Open Farm Days event. We are partnering with the Ellis Bird Farm for this special farm-to-fork event in rural Alberta. Come meet with local farmers, out in their fields, where they will talk about the crops they raise and the methods they use to provide food for your table. As we roll down the tracks, listen to the local wildlife experts from Ellis Bird Farm tell us about the wildlife & birds in the area.

Enjoy locally grown snacks & beverages in the open-air gondola car. When we arrive in the village of Forestburg you will be treated to a locally sourced & served full course meal. Then take some time to stroll through the village. Take a tour of our locally owned Heritage grain elevator where you can see a historic grain wagon on display, or dive into history at the Forestburg Museum. Wrap up your day with a cool train-themed drink at the saloon before heading back down the tracks. (Ticket includes train ride, snacks & dinner)
