Events Description

Come celebrate the spring migration in a Boreal Forest. On Saturday, start off with an early morning birding hike and pancake breakfast. Or enjoy a special tour of the Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory (LSLBO), nature hikes, workshops, and lots of hands-on children’s activities. On Sunday, help support the LSLBO by participating in a run/walk (5km/10km) departing from the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation at 10 a.m. A great event for nature lovers of all ages.

The Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory’s Songbird Festival is an annual celebration of spring migration. The festival began in 1994, the same year that the society was formed. The Songbird Festival was originally held at the migration monitoring station, but now the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation is the host of all the events.
