Events Description
Created by youth for youth, this two-day creative celebration features a combination of concerts and workshops designed to
allow youth to explore new artforms, as well as display their emerging talents and collaborate with others. On October 18 and 19, hundreds of youth will have an opportunity to Explore the Uncharted at the Kinsmen Banquet Centre in St. Albert.
A youth advisory committee, comprised of nearly 15 passionate students, have programmed a high-energy lineup of main stage concerts, innovative workshops like micro-gardening, sushi making, henna body art, special f/x makeup, calligraphy, self-portraiture, songwriting, and pottery making, as well as tons of free stuff.
This year, close to 100 young artists will be part of the Amplify Acoustic Stage, Youth Visual Art Exhibit and Write Club, all free to festival-goers.
Some of the other activities everyone can enjoy at no cost are t-shirt tie-dyeing, silk screening, button making, eco- weaving and bracelet making – a caricature artist and tarot card reader will also be on hand.
Friday night’s ‘battle of the bands’ (The Show 6.0) and Saturday night’s main stage headliners Arlo Maverick, Roman Clarke and Cypress are a Festival highlight.
