Are you a home baker interested in showcasing your baking talents in front of millions of Canadians? Then, CBC has announced that the casting for the fifth season of The Great Canadian Baking Show is now open.
Due to the pandemic, CBC will be limiting the audition process to virtual casting sessions.
For a chance to audition, apply online with a short introduction video (optional) before April 5, 2021. Successful candidates will then be selected for a video audition that will include a home baking assignment.
As per the CBC website, “Candidates will be given a baking assignment to practice and prepare for the audition, where they will be asked to bake in their home kitchen, while a culinary producer and casting associate observe the live feed and ask questions about technique, ingredients and progress. ”
So hurry, and apply online before April 5, 2021, for a chance to become one of the 10 bakers in The Great Canadian Baking Show tent on the grounds of the Canadian Film Centre, Toronto.
The Great Canadian Baking Show is produced by Proper Television in association with CBC and Love Productions. The famed series is based on the British show, The Great British Baking Show.
Each episode of The Great Canadian Baking Show features three rounds including the Signature Bake, the Technical Bake and the Show Stopper – during which the bakers will rely on their personal interests, baking styles and cultural backgrounds to make their delicious dishes stand out to the judges. After the bakes are tested and critiqued, the judges decide who will be the week’s Star Baker and who will be sent home. In the final episode, the remaining three bakers face-off in a bid to be named Canada’s best amateur baker.
