Canada Post has released its 2026 Christmas and holiday stamps, featuring two very different takes on the winter season: the intricate patterns of real snowflakes and an angel painted inside a historic Nova Scotia church.

The new stamps, issued on November 2, 2026, continue a tradition that dates back to 1964, when Canada Post began producing seasonal Christmas and holiday stamps.
Since 2005, Canadians have been able to choose between stamps featuring religious Christmas imagery and those celebrating the season through non-religious designs.
Christmas Stamp Features an Angel From Nova Scotia
The Christmas stamp takes inspiration from the artwork inside Paroisse Saint-Pierre, also known as St. Peter’s Church, in Chéticamp, Nova Scotia.
It depicts a praying angel with outstretched wings, drawn from a mural surrounding the church’s altar.
The original artwork is by Italian artist Mario Mauro, with the stamp designed by Jocelyne Saulnier of Joce Creative using photography by Jive Photographic Inc.

This year’s holiday stamps feature detailed images of actual snowflakes, captured through extreme close-up photography by Don Komarechka.
The designs reveal the surprisingly complex shapes of snow crystals, from delicate star patterns to elaborate hexagons, against icy-blue and white backgrounds.
Canada Post describes the designs as revealing the “complexity and beauty within every snow crystal.”
Illustrated by Manantsoa Razafimandimby, the collection includes:
- A booklet of 10 stamps featuring snowflake designs.
- A souvenir sheet containing three stamps for domestic, U.S. and international postage rates.
- The official cancellation location is Bonne Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, an area known for heavy snowfall. Its cancellation mark features a line drawing of a snowflake.
The stamp is available in booklets of 10 Permanent domestic-rate stamps.
