Featuring ensembles of the NAC Orchestra (KinderNACO). Drums, cymbals, timpani, marimbas, xylophones, and an inexhaustible supply of “toys” – these are all part of the percussion section of the orchestra. 3. Sugar LumberFest

The horticulture building at Lansdowne will be transformed into a huge urban sugar shack. Reserve your seat for one of four sittings and come indulge on a non-traditional gourmet menu prepared by rituel’s chef jean-philippe ménard. Come test your lumberjack abilities with an axe throwing, log sawing and log throwing competition. In total, 7 stations will be available to help you embrace your inner-lumberjack side. A kids’ competition is also planned with challenges for children 12-years old and under.  Details

There are no egg-scuses this year for missing A Hoppy Easter at the OHS! Hip hop your way to the shelter for some free family fun. Easter themed activities and treats will include egg races, Easter Bunny visits and photos, scavenger hunt, OHS Auxiliary craft and bake sale, Easter-themed crafts and activities, and Sweet Easter Cupcakes.  Details

5. Stanley’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Children and adults alike delight in meeting the Easter Bunny’s Helpers and helping them find their lost eggs!  Pile aboard the wagon for a ride out to the Sugarbush. Hunt through the bush in search of the Easter bunny’s lost eggs, and add them to your basket. Soon we’ll dump them all into the Bunny’s Giant Basket and head back to visit the baby animals in the barn. Family fun for all – and each child leaves with something special!  Details

9. Vimy – A Commemoration in Words and Music

The evening will appeal to an audience of music lovers, history enthusiasts and all Canadians, alike. Vimy – A Commemoration in Words and Music will be emceed by celebrated CBC personality Lucy Van Oldenbarneveld, internationally renowned Canadian historian, Margaret MacMillian, will be speaking, while the main focus of the the evening will feature Canadian composer, Andrew Ager’s, The Unknown Soldier. This original oratory, presented by a combined choir with baritone soloist, Gary Dahl, and orchestra, under the direction of Andrew Ager, is an enlightened musical masterpiece. This one hour and ten minute presentation includes select readings from letters written by soldiers of the Great War. Details

Three women in their thirties come “home” to the East Coast to be with their dying mother. Each in their own way tries to deal with the painful loneliness brought about by the lives they have chosen for themselves. The three women are a curious, troubled bunch. Agnes, whose hand is rarely without a drink, fled their rural Canadian home to make her way as an actor in Toronto; she’s brought her personal theatrics with her on this trip home. Theresa is a nun who farms with her convent; a sliver of doubt has entered her life. This classic Canadian comedy by Norm Foster explores sibling rivalry and resentment as well as themes of love, loyalty, and compassion.
