From Boba to Krunch Shakes, KFC Canada Unveils Kwench

KFC Canada is moving beyond chicken with Kwench, a new beverage brand built around specialty drinks and treat culture.

The launch marks KFC Canada’s first expansion outside its core food category. Kwench will offer nine made-to-order beverages across four categories: Krunch Shakes, Sparkling Lemonades, Boba Refreshers and Iced Lattes. Prices start at $3.50.

New menu items include:

  • Chocolate Krunch Shake: A rich milkshake drizzled with sauce and finished with crunchy cookie crumbs.
  • Caramel Krunch Shake: A caramel milkshake drizzled with caramel sauce and topped with speculoos crumbs.
  • Strawberry Shortcake Krunch Shake: A strawberry milkshake with strawberry sauce and shortcake cookie crumbs.
  • Sparkling Raspberry Lemonade: A bubbly raspberry-flavoured lemonade designed as a refreshing meal companion.
  • Strawberry Boba Refresher: A fruity lemonade served with hibiscus boba pearls for added texture.
  • Watermelon Boba Refresher: Lemonade combined with watermelon flavour and hibiscus boba pearls.
  • Iced Caramel Latte: An iced latte finished with a drizzle of caramel syrup.
  • Iced Mocha Latte: An iced mocha latte topped with chocolate sauce.
  • Iced Latte: A simple chilled latte served over ice.

Canada is the third market to introduce Kwench nationally, following launches in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and Australia. The company plans to bring the drinks to more than 170 Canadian locations by the end of summer, followed by an expansion to 600 locations in 2027.

KFC Canada and its franchisees are investing $30 million in the rollout.

“Kwench represents a significant growth opportunity for KFC Canada as we expand beyond our core food offering and build a dedicated beverage brand at scale,” said Ryan Koon, president and general manager of KFC Canada.

KFC said shakes and lemonades are among the most sought-after specialty beverage categories in other markets.
