Elephant & Castle Pub and Restaurant has inaugurated a new location in a historic building formerly occupied by the Rose & Crown Pub.

This opening marks the continuation of the British-inspired pub chain’s expansion in North America.
Managed by Franworks, a restaurant group that began its operations in Calgary in 2000, this establishment promises to blend traditional British pub culture with a local touch.
Located at 1503 4th Street SW near 17th Ave in Calgary’s Culture and Entertainment District, Elephant & Castle offers an assortment of British pub fare, including fish and chips, bangers and mash, and shepherd’s pie, alongside a diverse selection of local and imported beers. Patrons can also enjoy a traditional “Sunday Roast” featuring roast beef, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and Yorkshire pudding.

Per the news release, the pub features live music on weekends and a daily late-night happy hour from 11 p.m. to close, where drinks and shareables are available for $6.
Sports fans will find Elephant & Castle particularly appealing as it broadcasts a variety of international sports events, including prominent soccer leagues like the Premier League, La Liga, and the Canadian Premier League, among others.
