The Town of Newmarket is transforming its Main Street into an enchanting pedestrian zone for the Ice Lounge on Main event, a unique winter festival presented by Mercedes-Benz Newmarket from February 21 to 23.

This experience promises to merge the convivial atmosphere of après-ski with the charm of urban exploration, offering an array of activities that cater to all ages and interests.
As Main Street, from Water Street to Park Avenue, morphs into an enchanting world, attendees are invited to immerse themselves in a world where the chill of winter is met with the warmth of community spirit.
Here’s what visitors can look forward to:
- Get ready for family-friendly fun! The Snow Valley Mini Tube Slide on Botsford Street (Friday 12 pm to 5 pm, Saturday 12 pm to 7 pm, Sunday 12 pm to 5 pm) will thrill visitors of all ages. Explore the Arctic Zone on Timothy Street, featuring stunning life-like ice statues. Enjoy performances from DooDoo, the International Clown, The Hockey Circus Show, and the mesmerizing Dr. Draw & NorthFire Circus.
- Relax in luxury at the Mercedes-Benz Newmarket Village, featuring cozy Geodomes, warming fire tables, live music, and marshmallow roasting stations. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and take in the magic of the Ice Lounge experience while staying warm and comfortable.
- Enjoy complimentary marshmallow roasting, hot chocolate, and soup courtesy of Vince’s Market and The Postmark Hotel. Plus, don’t miss daily maple taffy on snow from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. while supplies last. Cozy up and enjoy these delicious winter delights!
- Keep the energy high with live music and DJs throughout the event! DJ Kat Vhonda spins daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., while live bands take the stage Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Don’t miss performances by Bianca Rollo Band, Patrick Fockler, Murray Drive, and The Sidewalk Crusaders!
During the festival, visitors can support the community through the #ChooseLocal and Shop to Win initiatives. Town of Newmarket’s Ice Lounge on Main
With free admission and a plethora of activities, the Ice Lounge on Main presents an unparalleled opportunity to explore, indulge, and celebrate amidst the beauty of winter.
When: Friday, February 21 – 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday, February 22 – 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday, February 23 – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Parking is available at Riverwalk Commons and surrounding areas as per parking by-laws and winter parking by-laws.
Main Street from Water Street to Park Avenue will be closed from 4 p.m. on February 20 to 11 p.m. on February 23. Lorne Avenue, Prospect Street, Water Street and Queen Street are all open as per usual traffic access. Parking spaces along Main Street will be closed at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 20 from Water Street to Park Avenue.
