Newmarket’s Boutique Getaway: The Postmark Hotel Transforms Historic Post Office

The Postmark Hotel in Newmarket is now welcoming guests,  transforming a 1914-built former post office at 180 Main St into the city’s first boutique hotel.

The restoration of the building preserves its historical essence while introducing modern amenities and luxury accommodations.

The Postmark Hotel features 55 guest rooms across three floors, each distinctively designed to cater to various preferences, ranging from cozy rooms to expansive suites with walkout terraces and kitchenettes.

Each room showcases Canadian artwork, high-end French bedding, and modern amenities, including high-speed internet and organic toiletries from Consonant Skin+Care.

On-site dining options include two restaurants led by Executive Chef Jon Turner. The Lobby, a café and bar on the ground floor, offers everything from breakfast to dinner with dishes such as Yellowfin Tuna Crudo and Smashburger.

The rooftop restaurant Overlea opens on August 9, providing a dining experience with scenic views and specialties like Seared Venison Carpaccio and Montreal Smoked Meat Benedict.

The Postmark Hotel also offers four event spaces, accommodating events from intimate luncheons to larger gatherings of up to 200 guests, complete with full-service catering and cocktail options.

Art is a central theme at The Postmark, with guest rooms and public spaces adorned with works curated by Lee Petrie. Featured artists include Kristin Sjaarda, Lizz Aston, Moira Ness, Diogo Pinheiro, and Kal Mansur, highlighting local and regional talent.

As part of its opening promotions, the hotel is offering a 30% discount on bookings made for August and September, and a 20% discount from October through December.
