Hello,
As a Canadian Citizen and a resident of Ottawa-Gatineau, I was VERY insulted that last year before the fireworks, nobody sang our Canadian National Anthem. Are we so ashamed of our heritage that we can't even have someone on the stage sing the national anthem? They sing it at every other Canada day celebration I've ever attended in my lifetime, including in rural parts of Quebec where French nationalism is higher than Canadian. This is absolutely unacceptable for our National Capital Celebration. What kind of message are you sending to Canadians and newcomers?
I will not attend this year, since showing my kids that we honor canada before the expensive firework show by singing our national anthem is very important to me. Hopefully you will fix this in the future.
