1. Outdoor Skating
Greater Moncton is home to five excellent outdoor skating rinks. Grab your skates and helmets to hit the ice for some winter fun.
Ian Fowler Oval
Located outside of the Avenir Centre is the ever popular Ian Fowler Oval. You will need to bring your own skates and helmets to skate since there are no rentals available. There are no hockey sticks or pucks allowed on the ice at the oval.

Mapleton Park
Tucked behind the lodge at Mapleton Park, this outdoor skating rink is maintained by the city. The rules for this rink are that no pucks or hockey sticks are allowed on the ice.

Centennial Park
Centennial Park is the only outdoor skating rink in Moncton that allows people to play hockey and ringette. They have nets available for hockey or ringette use on-site. Make sure to wear helmets when playing hockey.

Victoria Park
This outdoor skating rink is located in beautiful Victoria Park and is maintained by the city. This rink does not allow hockey sticks or pucks on the ice.

Winter Wonderland Park
Grab your coat and skates, then head out to Winter Wonderland Park. Their outdoor rink is great for skating in the winter. You can practice by yourself or take some friends along with you.

During the winter, there are two outdoor skating rinks open at Rotary St-Anselme Park. There is one rink that is specifically just for skating while the other one is reserved for ringette and hockey games. 4. Explore Centennial Park

5. Fat Bike Your Way Through Mapleton Park
Snowshoe or fat bike your way through the beautiful open spaces and lush forested areas at Mapleton Park. The park is 122 hectares of exciting winter fun for you and your friends to explore. They offer snowshoe and fat bike rentals on Sundays and Mondays if you need them.

6. Play in the Snow at Fairview Knoll Park
Play in the snow at Fairview Knoll Park. There are beautifully maintained walking trails and some challenging ungroomed snowshoeing trails that you can enjoy a relaxing trek on. You will need to bring your own snowshoes because they do not offer rentals.

7. Snowshoe at Irishtown Nature Park
Irishtown Nature Park is a fantastic winter wonderland. This 890-hectare park in the cities’ north end is a winter outdoor enthusiast’s dream. The almost 7km of footpaths become the perfect place to go snowshoeing in the winter.

8. Slide Down a Hill
There are many wonderful tobogganing hills in and around Moncton, including the Winter Wonderland Park and Claude D. Taylor Elementary School (do visit outside of school hours) on the corner of Whitepine and Trites.

Winter Wonderland park is known to the locals as ‘the place’ to go for a fantastic day of sliding. It’s famous sliding hill now includes a fun snowboard component. So, bundle up the kids and have an awesome family sliding day.

9. Explore Fundy National Park

This volunteer-run club maintains some of the best snowmobile trails around Moncton and the surrounding area. They monitor over 140km of groomed trails every winter. So, meet up with your snowmobiling friends and have a blast riding the beautifully groomed trails.
