The annual Savour Strathcona festival is returning on Sunday, September 13 to celebrate the best of local food, art, and music.
The one-day festival runs from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Strathcona County Community Centre and brings restaurants, food trucks, breweries, artists, musicians and market vendors into one place.
What to See, Do & Eat at Savour Strathcona County
Savour is designed as a one-day showcase of Strathcona County’s independent restaurants, food trucks, brewers, winemakers, cidermakers, distillers, artists and musicians.
You can sample bite-sized dishes inside the Agora, shop local art through Gallery@501, relax with a drink and music on East Plaza, then browse growers and makers along Festival Lane.
The event brings many local names into one place, so you can move at your own pace and build the afternoon around whatever catches your eye first that day.
Start with the food
Inside the Agora, you can try sample-sized dishes from restaurants including Rau Vietnamese Kitchen, Yoshi Japanese Restaurant, Mexico Lindo Tacos & Grill, La Fabbrica del Gusto, The Ivy Tearoom & Bakery and Twice Cream.
Outside, Cheddar Chariot, The Local Lemon, Poutine & Elephant Ears and Casa12doce add food-truck choices.
Refreshing Drinks:
East Plaza gives you a spot to slow down, find seating and grab something refreshing from The Local Lemon. Manual Labour Beer Co., Barr Estate Winery and 70 Acre Brew Co. will also be set up nearby.
Per the organisers, there is “something to discover around every corner,” so you can easily make this a stop between food, music and market browsing.
Six live sets through the afternoon:
You can catch six performers on the Luke Jansen Soundstage: Regina Espina at 3 p.m., Paul Cournoyer at 3:50 p.m., Caylie G at 4:30 p.m., Marissa K at 5:10 p.m., Tayler Grace at 5:50 p.m. and Jay Gilday at 6:30 p.m.
The stage was named in 2018 in memory of Luke Jansen, a Strathcona County employee who died in 2017 at age 22.
Art and market:
Gallery@501’s artisan market includes Andrea Krahn, Cathy Bible, James Grasdal, Mel Schoenberger, Runa Gedam and other local artists.
On Festival Lane, you can browse the Sherwood Park Farmers’ Market lineup, including Country L’Oven, Kim’s Preserves & Kim’s Classy Cocktails, Far North BBQ, Swissmiss Bakery and The Soup Company.
