Located in Cobourg (Northumberland County), under 2 hours from Toronto, the King George Inn was once the historic Cobourg jail, holding up to one hundred inmates. The jail was later converted to a 20+ country inn and hotel. Therefore, this Jail hotel is said to have plenty of paranormal activity.
The 1906 Georgian manor has tastefully decorated regular rooms and jail themed rooms (Jail hotel).
The Jail Escape hotel is hosting a Halloween Lock down event on the 31st of October, so hurry up and book your tickets because the number of jail themed rooms is limited as there are only 18 rooms are available to rent.
Most rooms accommodate around 3-4 people, so you can stay with your friends in the same room! Pictures of the rooms are available on their website so that you can choose your own room.
To make this experience more authentic, a ghost hunting event will be conducted by Ghosthunters. They will also give you a 4-course dinner called ‘your last meal’ and you can even choose your sentence on their website! It doesn’t get more authentic than that.
