If there’s a summer movie you never got around to seeing, Cineplex is giving you a lower-cost chance to catch up.
On Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6, 2026, you can buy a general admission movie ticket for $5 plus tax when purchasing at a Cineplex theatre. A small popcorn will also cost $5 plus tax.
Cineplex describes the offer as a chance to “squeeze one last movie out of summer,” whether that means one film or a full movie marathon. There are several movies playing over the weekend, including Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Odyssey, Coyote vs. Acme, The Dog Stars, Mutiny and Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie.

The $5 ticket price applies to in-theatre purchases. If you book online, CineClub members pay $5, Scene+ members pay $6 including a $1 booking fee, while other customers pay $6.50 including a $1.50 fee.
You can still earn Scene+ points. Regular movie tickets earn 3 points per $1 spent, while premium experiences earn 6 points per $1. Food and beverage purchases, including the $5 popcorn, earn 3 points per $1.

Fancy something beyond a standard screening? You can upgrade for an additional surcharge to formats including IMAX, UltraAVX, D-BOX, 4DX, ScreenX, RealD 3D, Clubhouse and VIP.
The promotion does not apply to IMAX 70MM or Standard 70MM screenings, non-feature films or Cineplex Events performances.
The $5 popcorn is available in theatres only, so delivery and Cineplex mobile ordering are excluded.
A portion of the weekend’s proceeds will go to Canadian Picture Pioneers, which has supported members of Canada’s motion picture industry through financial assistance and educational programs since 1940.
