The Atlanta Dream and Seattle Storm will face off in the first-ever regular-season WNBA game held outside the United States.
The historic matchup is scheduled for Friday, August 15, 2025, at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C., as part of the third WNBA Canada Game.
The Atlanta Dream, coming off consecutive playoff appearances for the first time since 2014, features standout players like Rhyne Howard, the 2022 Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year, and Tina Charles, a record-holding player in both rebounds and points. The team also includes Allisha Gray, winner of both the WNBA Skills Challenge and 3-Point Contest in 2024, and Canadian Laeticia Amihere from Mississauga, Ontario.
The Seattle Storm, four-time WNBA champions, recently marked their 25th anniversary and 19th playoff appearance. Their roster boasts elite talents such as Nneka Ogwumike, a former league MVP, Jewell Loyd, a two-time WNBA champion, and Skylar Diggins-Smith, a six-time All-Star.
This event follows sold-out WNBA Canada Games in Toronto and Edmonton in 2023 and 2024, respectively. It also highlights the league’s growing presence in Canada, where viewership rose 175% in 2024. The WNBA recently announced expansion teams for Toronto and Portland, set to join in 2026.
“This marks a significant step as we prepare to establish a Toronto franchise,” said WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert, citing the growing momentum of women’s basketball in Canada.
Ticket and broadcast details for the Vancouver game will be announced later, with presale registration available at WNBACanadaGame.com.
