Canadian Tire Corporation and Tim Hortons have launched a linked loyalty partnership that lets you earn up to 5% in Canadian Tire Money alongside your usual Tims Rewards points on eligible Tims purchases.
Darryl Jenkins, Executive Vice-President and Chief Development Officer at Canadian Tire Corporation, said the partnership is centred on “one of the country’s most familiar routines: a Tims run.”
How to earn up to 5% in Canadian Tire Money:
You must be a registered Triangle Rewards and Tims Rewards member and link your accounts to participate. Once you link your Tims Rewards and Triangle Rewards accounts, you can earn up to 5% in Canadian Tire Money on eligible purchases at participating Tim Hortons locations, on top of your Tims Rewards points.
Here’s how it works:
- Scan your Tims Rewards: Earn 2% in Canadian Tire Money on eligible purchases before tax.
- Pay with a Triangle credit card: After scanning your Tims Rewards, you can earn an additional 2% on your total purchase after tax.
- Use Scan & Pay in the Tims app: Pay with a Triangle credit card through Scan & Pay to earn an additional 1% on eligible purchases before tax.
Together, these offers can add up to 5% in Canadian Tire Money.
Hope Bagozzi, Chief Marketing Officer for Tim Hortons, said guests will now “earn both Tims Rewards points and Canadian Tire Money on their orders at Tims.”
Linking Your Accounts:
You can visit triangle.com/timsrewards, select “Link Accounts,” then sign in or register for both programs and follow the prompts.
Redemption rules are not changing. Tims Rewards points remain redeemable at participating Tim Hortons locations, while Canadian Tire Money can be used at banners including Canadian Tire, SportChek, Mark’s and several other participating retailers.
Per the news release, this partnership brings together more than 12 million Triangle Rewards members and almost 8 million Tims Rewards members.
