True Beauty – Artwork by Malinda Prud’homme
What to Expect:
The exhibition will feature a variety of beauty inspired artworks ranging from expressionist to extremely realistic. The show hopes to express that all women; regardless of age, size, ethnicity, or style; are beautiful in their own unique way. In order to further this idea the artist has created a brand new 16 piece series to be revealed for the first time at the opening reception. The series, also titled “True Beauty”, features the unique spirit of 16 Canadian women from different walks of life; many of which reside in our beautiful city of Toronto. The style of this series combines colourful iconic imagery with smooth realistic portraiture. This impressive collection of artwork, along with complimentary wine and snacks, will certainly make for a lovely evening.
About the Artist:
Malinda Prud’homme is a Toronto based artist who has been working towards her art career since 2010. After successfully running her career part time, she decided to take the leap into a full time career in 2012 and hasn’t looked back since. On top of creating beautiful original artworks that continues to impress her worldwide audience, she’s also been given many opportunities to create cherished custom artworks for fans throughout Canada, the US, and the UK. She’s also been featured on many internet sites as well as national magazines including Missy Ink and HOLR. But one of her biggest achievements was winning the Technical Excellence Award at the Toronto Emerging Artists Awards in November 2014.
Her greatest passion is expressing that all women are beautiful despite the unrealistic and unnecessary expectations the media perpetuates. It is her hope that when women see her artwork they will be inspired to set aside their harsh self-criticisms and see themselves as the truly beautiful people they are.
