Right in time for summer, the restaurant openings around Calgary include some places for cold treats. Overall, Calgary was a busy city over the first months of summer when it came to new bakeries, cafes, restaurants, and bars.

The city received a new one of each, and then some! Spend the next half of summer exploring all the new places to eat in Calgary with a few new patios to try as well.
Also on the new menus of Calgary’s newest eateries is a variety of international cuisine, including authentic Korean, South Indian, and Mexican options.

Maisie Eatery
While many in Calgary were celebrating the Stampede in early July, the new Maisie Eatery were busy celebrating both that and their grand opening. The new café is now open in the Sam Centre and offer a rotating menu of new daily eats or drinks. Fill up on any meal and sip on several different craft café drinks.

Otie Bakehouse
Downtown Calgary and the Beltline are now home to one of Calgary’s newest bakeries and cafes. The Otie Bakehouse focus on freshly baked pastries and morning goodies and offers your classic café drinks like lattes, cappuccino, or tea drinks.
Pair these with a signature breakfast sandwich, croissant, or one of several different flavours of tarts.

Moose & Poncho
One of Calgary’s most popular spots for authentic Mexican food now has a second location in the city! Calgary’s southeast recently welcomed the new Moos & Poncho location to what we can assume is a great delight! They are already well known for their excellent taco dishes and churros.

ELYMI
ELYMI, or Eat Like You Mean It, is Calgary’s newest family buffet. And with this new buffet option, visitors can expect a different menu every time or week. They’ll mix up their buffet offerings to include theme days or different international cuisines.

Monster Kakigori
This new frozen treat spot in the Dragon City Mall offers up Japanese shaved ice dressed and garnished all sorts of ways. Monster Kakigori is the first dessert shop of its kind in the city and promise a refreshing way to cool off this summer. Enjoy various shaved ice flavours, ice cream sandwiches, or the matcha lattes.

Letty
This new pizza shop in Calgary promises two things: delicious Neapolitan-style pizzas alongside fresh and seasonal small plates. What that means is the menu is filled with gourmet pizza options and a warm array of appetizers for dinner, cocktails, and a full brunch menu. The pizza doesn’t stop at dinner, either, as Letty offer a delectable Smores Pizza for dessert!

Ninja Tiger
The menu from downtown Calgary’s new Ninja Tiger is all inspired by the Maharashtrian region of India and Bombay street food. From this, diners get a diverse range of rich flavours. Try savoury dishes of panner, lamb, chicken, eggs, seafood, and more. They also offer a large menu of sides, vegetarian dishes, or the 11-course thalis tasting menus.

Garage Sports Bar
The Garage Sports Bar is a Calgary staple and have been serving up pub food and drinks for close to 30 years. But that was in the Eau Claire Mall, so the Garage Sports Bar have recently celebrated grand re-opening from a new spot! Find the Garage Sports Bar in Bow Valley Square southeast of their old location, but still downtown.

Dosa & Co.
The Dosa & Co. menu gives diners a taste of authentic South Indian cuisine. These dishes are served with tons of flavour and originate from traditional South Indian dishes. This includes an array of meat, seafood, and vegetarian plates among the appetizers and meals. The restaurant is a cozy and intimate space with eye-catching décor to add to the culinary journey.
