For the first time since 2017, the Edmonton Pride Parade will once again wind its way through the city’s downtown, promising a vibrant display of colour, music, and unity.

The long-awaited return takes place on Saturday, August 23, from 1 to 3 p.m., with thousands expected to gather for what organizers call a historic comeback.
This year’s parade will feature more than 1,500 participants, including the city’s first-ever Trans March leading the procession. The route begins at Churchill Square before heading west along 102A Avenue, turning onto 103 Avenue, and moving north through the Ice District Plaza. The march will conclude at Fan Park, where celebrations continue with live music, high-energy performances, and a Pride marketplace.
Viewing areas include Churchill Square, ICE District Plaza, and Fan Park, where official watch parties will offer live hosts and entertainment.
The event is free, open to all ages, and forms part of the wider Edmonton Pride Festival.
To accommodate the parade, several major downtown streets—including sections of 102A Avenue, 103 Avenue, and 104 Avenue—will close from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Edmonton Transit Service advises parade-goers to rely on the Capital, Metro, or Valley Line LRT, with multiple bus routes detouring until 4 p.m.
Prime viewing spots are expected to fill quickly, and organizers encourage early arrival. With road closures, limited parking access at parkades such as City Centre West and ICE District Central, and additional delays due to the Do North Triathlon, public transit or e-scooters are recommended.
The festival continues until Sunday and will feature live performances, headlined by Jamie Fine and LU KALA, along with local artists.
