25 of the Biggest Concerts Coming to Edmonton in 2024

As always, Edmonton has a busy year ahead for live concerts.

As usual, these concerts include some big names in music. 2024 is an especially interesting year for music as Edmonton will see a number of different farewell tours, or last chances to see an artist.

These concerts span a variety of venues including Edmonton’s two largest: Rogers Place, and Commonwealth Stadium. Among those are Edmonton’s smaller but thriving venues like Midway or the River Cree Resort & Casino.

Edmonton’s venues have concerts in 2024 that cover an array of musical genres- the biggest of those acts (announced so far) are listed below in chronological order.

Machine Head

Oakland California’s Machine Head will take over Midway Music Hall at the end of January with their heavy metal sound. Edmonton is one of five stops on their Slaughter the Martour 2024. They’ll also play in Calgary, Vancouver, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg.

Blue Oyster Cult

The Blue Oyster Cult had to unfortunately post-pone an Edmonton tour stop in December 2023. Luckily, that show was rescheduled, and the Cult will be at the River Cree Resort & Casino on January 25 to make up for the missed date. Those who purchased tickets for the December show retain their spot!

Aaron Pritchett: The Liquored Up Tour

City & Colour with Nathanial Rateliff & The Night Sweats

City & Colour celebrated the release of a new album in 2023 and continue to celebrate with a tour. They’re touring alongside Nathanial Rateliff & The Night Sweats, too, within the large venue of Rogers. Warm up this February with Dallas Green’s smooth vocals, both bands’ indie sounds, and both bands’ upbeat tracks.

The Strumbellas: Part Time Believer Tour

The Strumbellas’ Part Time Believe Tour will feature a stop in Edmonton at Midway and will feature special guest Michael Bernard Fitzgerald. The Ontario-based Strumbellas are best described as indie-rock but have some tunes with folk vibes, and more country sounds.

The Sam Roberts Band have consistently released albums over the last 20 or so years, with the latest having come out in 2023. Journey with Toto: Freedom Tour

Journey’s Freedom Tour officially started in 2023 and continues into 2024 with a spring stop in Edmonton. Journey will join special guests Toto for a memorable performance from pop-rock legends and hall of famers. Journey are only stopping in four prairie cities out of all Canadian stops on this North American tour. Other Canadian stops include Calgary, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg.

Corb Lund

Corb Lund is on his release tour for his latest album, The El Viejo. The local Alberta country music star hails from Taber and includes the nearby Edmonton on his 2024 tour stops. Queens of the Stone Age

Many Canadians rejoiced last December as the Queens of the Stone Age added a handful of Canadian stops on the already-scheduled The End is Nero Tour. This rock tour will make April stops in Edmonton, as well as Calgary and 10 other cities. The band will feature their recent In Times New Roman… album for the tour.

Foreigner Farewell Tour

Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance: 25 Years of Standing Ovations

NOFX: Punk in Drublic and Farewell Tour

One of punk’s biggest and most influential bands will return to Edmonton; and they’ll return for the final time to perform! NOFX is back for another Punk in Drublic show in Edmonton via their Farewell Tour which celebrates the band playing together for 40 years. On this tour, NOFX will play in 40 different cities with a 40-song set list for each show!

Metallica: M72 World Tour

Metallica’s major 2024 M72 World Tour has two dates scheduled for Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium. These outdoor stadium concerts are sure to be a huge production, as Metallica also welcomes different guest performances for each of the two days. On the 23, Metallica will be joined by Pantera and Marmoth; and on the 25th, Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills.

Commonwealth will transform from Metallica’s metal scene to a colourful pop setting for P!nk’s Summer Carnival Tour at the end of August. This massive world tour won’t make a whole lot of Canadian stops, but Edmonton is part of that lineup where fans have chances to sit up close or elevated over the stage.

Jordan Davis: Damn Good Time

Jordan Davis is touring for a Damn Good Time in 2024 and will be joined by two special guests on tour: Mitchell Tepenney and Ashley Cooke. The fall country concert will feature Jordan Davis’ upbeat and poppy vibes and is likely to feature many hits from his 2023 Bluebird Days album.

Zach Bryan: The Quittin’ Time Tour

Rogers Place will host Zach Bryan’s Quittin’ Time Tour for two days in late fall 2024! The concerts were announced almost a day after Zach Bryan released his latest and self-titled album.

If you thought the Bruce Springsteen Edmonton concert would be on November 6th, you aren’t totally wrong.
