They operate their adventure company out of Waterton Lakes National Park, and their retail store in Pincher Creek.

The guided adventures all take place in the beautiful Waterton National Park, where your hosts will bring you to Waterton’s incredible views and lakeside areas. If you want to master the trails on your own, Tamarack also offers a daily summer shuttle to the trailhead of the Carthew-Anderson Trail, a hike that will lead you conveniently back to Waterton village/townsite.

Half-day Adventures

Leave the town of Waterton behind for a couple of hours to discover some of the park’s prettiest locations. The Half-day Tamarack hikes are easier and shorter hikes (1-3 hours), but that doesn’t mean the scenery will be any less spectacular at locations like the rushing Bertha Falls, the forested edges of Lower Rowe Lake, or the serene Crandell Lake.

Where: Berth Falls, the treed-in Lower Rowe Lake, Crandell Lake

How much: $150 for up to three hikers

A Day on the Trail

A day on the trail with Tamarack can mean anywhere from three to six hours of exploring iconic Waterton hikes. You can choose the level of difficulty according to different sites around the park like Bertha Lake and its bright red rocks, Upper Rowe Lake and its peaceful wilderness, or Goat Lake and its rocky surrounding landscapes.

Where: Can be at Bertha, Upper Rowe, or Goat Lakes, or Lineham Falls/Ridge

How much: $240 for up to three hikers

A Day Trek in the Rockies

A Day Trek is more than a quick hike. These adventures range in times from 6- to 10-hours and require one to be capable of hiking 10km (with elevation gains). On these treks, you will see Waterton National Park from above while you traverse rocky mountain ridges, cross creeks, and climb up wooded trails.

Where: Carthew-Alberson, Akamina Ridge, & Lineham Ridge trails

How much: $285 for up to three hikers

The Fine Art of Hiking

Waterton can be an inspirational place thanks to its awe-inspiring scenery, and all the sightseeing might have you feeling artistically inspired. Tamarack’s Fine Art of Hiking adventure gives you time and space to channel your creativity by pairing with you an Artist Hiking Guide who can lead you on the trails before you stop for some arts and crafts in nature.

Where: Locations vary

How much: $210 for up to three hikers

Nature Walk ‘n’ Talks

The Nature Walk N Talks will focus on a new theme each week with a 1–2-hour hike aimed at teaching you all about Waterton and its wild side. The walks are simple and informative and will be led by a Waterton local who knows the area and its history well.

Where: through Waterton village

How much: $90 for up to three hikers

The Wild Side of Flowers

You might need to save this guided adventure for next year, as it is best in late June and early July when Waterton’s wildflowers are in full bloom. The guided hike takes about 2-3 hours with locations that can make your hike easy, or which can make your hike a little more challenging.

Where: locations vary

How much: $180 for up to three hikers
