About Canadian Canoe Museum, Peterborough, Ontario
The Canadian Canoe Museum is a family-friendly museum that explores the canoe’s enduring significance to the peoples of Canada, Turtle Island and the World. The museum was founded on a collection of the late Professor Kirk Wipper,and was open to public in 1997.
On May 13, the museum reopened in a $45 purpose-built, world-class, two-story, 65,000-square-foot museum on its five-acre lakefront campus.
Canadian Canoe Museum is the largest Canoe Museum in the world.

The interactive, hands-on galleries holds more than 600 canoes, kayaks and paddled watercraft. Learn about the watercraft traditions of Canada.
Set sail on Little Lake with a voyageur canoe tour, or rent a canoe or kayak for a solo adventure; feel free to bring your own watercraft too. Refresh at the Silver Bean Cafe and browse the store’s unique local creations.
