The open-air production uses 1,200 synchronized drones to recreate characters and memorable moments from the Harry Potter films above the audience.
Music from the films, a live electric violinist and LED wristbands will be part of the 60-minute experience. The DroneArt Show series has previously appeared in more than 40 cities, and the Edmonton edition brings the concept outdoors under the night sky.
DroneArt Show: Harry Potter on September 18 & 19 at the East Gate of Exhibition Lands Racetrack is presented by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and Fever.

- 1,200 drones take over the sky: The main attraction is the aerial show itself, with 1,200 illuminated drones moving in synchronized formations. The display revisits recognizable characters and moments from the Harry Potter films, using light, movement and the open night sky to create the visual storytelling.
- Film music meets live violin: Music from the Harry Potter film soundtracks will guide the drone formations throughout the show. A live electric violinist will also perform during key moments, adding another layer to the 60-minute production, which includes an intermission.
- Guests become part of the display: Audience members will receive exclusive LED wristbands designed to bring them into the visual experience. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., while the show begins at 8:30 p.m. Organizers encourage early arrival, noting that “late entry may not be permitted.”
- Food, Butterbeer and themed merchandise: Visitors can arrive before the performance for food and drinks, with Butterbeer™ available at select venues. Harry Potter-themed merchandise will also be sold, including wands, scarves and collectibles for fans looking to take something home after the show.
