AirlineRatings.com named Air Canada as one of the Top Twenty-Five Airlines in the World for 2023.

The announcement was part of its annual Airline Excellence Awards.
The top-ranked airline, Air New Zealand, secured the number one spot due to its groundbreaking cabin innovation offering beds for economy class passengers on its new 787s. Qatar Airways, the Airline of the Year in 2021 and 2022, claimed the titles of Best Business Class, Best Catering, and Best Airline in the Middle East. Etihad Airways secured the third position and received the Best Environmental Airlines Award for its leadership in the 787 Greenliner program.
Virgin Australia and Virgin Atlantic shared the seventh place and were also honoured with the Best Cabin Crew award. Emirates, which placed tenth, was also recognized for its Best In-Flight Entertainment and the installation of Best Premium Economy on its A380s and upcoming 777s.
