Both Alberta and British Columbia reported over 1,000 new COVID-19 cases since Friday, August 6th.
Alberta reported a total of 1,017 new COVID-19 cases with 398 cases on August 6th, 375 cases on August 7th and 244 cases on August 8th.
Currently, there are 3,380 active cases with 129 in the hospital. Of these, 26 require intensive care.
Over the same three-day period, B.C. reported 1,079 new cases of COVID-19 with 422 new cases on August 6th, 364 new cases on August 7th, 293 new cases on August 8th. Of the total active cases in B.C., 68 are in hospital and 20 are in intensive care. There are currently 3,036 active cases of COVID-19 in the province
As of Monday, 76.4% of eligible Albertans have received at least one dose and 66.9% of Albertans are fully vaccinated, while 82.0% of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 70.3% have received their second dose.

Currently, there are no public statistics available on how many of those admitted to the hospital are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
