Alberta Ballet announces 17/18 season – Features Contemporary Ballet inspired by Tragically Hip.

Alberta Ballet’s 2017/18 season includes a contemporary ballet inspired by a soundtrack of the Tragically Hip’s most-loved music.

 
Embrace ‘the art of the tango’ with Tango Fire, explore a world of a world of uncontrollable sexual desires and emotions through Dangerous Liaisons, spend Christmas enjoying the Nutcracker, explore an electrifying mash-up of dance styles and musical genres through Shaping Sound: After the Curtain, immerse yourself in the hidden landscape of the American Southwest during the performance of Momix Opus Cactus, relive the magic of fairytales through Cinderella, celebrates the sound and stories of a band that has spoken so poignantly to a generation of Canadians through All of Us (The Tragically Hip Ballet), and follow the story of a Spanish gypsy who saves the life of a French aristocrat, Lucien when School of Alberta Ballet’s Professional Division performs Paquita.
